License Services How-To
This page gives the basic overview of using the services portion of License Services. Looking for technical information? See the foundation article or ask in our forums.
- Ensure you have available keyset pool
In order to create a product in the License Services system, you must have available keyset pool. If you have none, purchase one or more keysets to have them available when you are ready to integrate licenses into your product.
- Define your product
When you are ready to integrate the license into your product, create the keyset for your product. This permanently removes the keyset from your pool, registers your product in the system, and sends you the public key and other technical information required for use in your software.
- Ensure you have available license pool
In order to issue licenses for your product, you must have available license pool for that product. Every new product registration starts with some number of complimentary licenses in the pool. If this is not enough or you have issued all of them, you must purchase more from the LS Account Management page.
- Issue licenses for your product
When you have a license to issue, collect the necessary information and issue your license. Select whether to have the license information sent to you or directly to your customer. Issuing licenses from your LS Account Management page after selecting the desired product.
