Are you an end-user trying to retrieve a forgotten/lost license?

Developer License Services

Welcome to License Services from Sentient Food. This is the developers' launching point for cost-effective software license management.

What are the costs?

For $24.95, a product can be set up for use with License Services. This one-time (per product) fee creates the encryption keys, sets up the License Services system to track that product, includes 3 months of end-user license retrieval for free, and even starts you off with 50 free licenses in your license pool (a $40 value for the licenses alone!). This places your out-of-pocket expenses at fifty cents per copy for your first 50 copies, a price-per-copy value that almost any software developer can justify!

If your per-product initial license pool isn't sufficient, you purchase licenses for each product as you need them, at costs from $1/license to as low as $0.50/license (when purchased in volume).

How do I get started?

The first requirement is that you have an account here at Sentient Food. Don't have one? Look for the "New Member?" link at the top of this page or click here to create your basic account.

Once you're logged in, you're ready to go. Manage your License Services account.

Not familiar with the basics of this license system? Read the foundation article and the how-to for this system.

Are there any hidden or on-going fees?

We're up-front about what gets charged. If you don't need user license retrieval and 50 licenses is sufficient, all you pay is the $24.95 setup fee.

Additional licenses are available for purchase as outlined above. Ongoing end-user license retrieval is also available for a small one-time fee to extend the retrieval beyond the complimentary period included with every keyset purchase. Professional status (and benefits) for your account is coming soon and will be available as an ongoing subscription.

Can this service be used on non-Mac OS X platforms?

Yes, absolutely! While it is true that the foundation article caters to Mac OS X, the concepts (and indeed, much of the code) will work on any platform with a suitable compiler and a current version of OpenSSL. The issuing and tracking service itself does not care what platform the registered products or issued licenses will be used on.
